E.D. Hill visited The View on Wednesday morning to discuss her planned elective double mastectomy scheduled for next week.
The former Fox News commentator announced her decision to have an elective double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer when she sat in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck as a guest co-host on The View back in September 2009. E.D. Hill returned to update The View crew on her story before she goes in for surgery next week.
E.D. Hill made the decision because of widespread history of breast cancer in her family tree: "I decided to have a double mastectomy because I was tired of the uncertainty. I was tired of waiting for breast cancer to find me. I want to make the decisions on my terms. On my time."
E.D. Hill's sister has already undergone a prophylactic double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer.
"It's liberating," Hill told The View co-hosts. "I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid anymore."
The View will be following up with E.D. Hill after her surgery. Check out the complete E.D. Hill interview below.

I find this story very disturbing. This woman must be seriously unbalanced and any doctor who would humor such a request should lose their license. So now she won't get breast cancer, does she think that makes her invincible? Has she considered the risk that surgery poses? Well, her horrible judgment is not too surprising given that she is the Fox news personality who came up
with the 'terrorist fist bump' criticism of Obama.
I think it's a brave decision.
Anna T....you are such an idiot. Did you even give any thought as to what you just wrote...did you even try to put yourself in her shoes and imagine the agonizing feelings that e.d hill lives with on a daily basis? I think not!
If you were faced with such a high risk of breast cancer would you be heroic enough to sacrifice your breasts to save yourself and be there to mother your children or are you caught up in this worlds standards that outward image equals beauty?
also, if you do your research before opening your yap you would realize that this decision is not as drastic as you make it out to be when you see the beautiful results that can now be achieved with today's innovative plastic surgery and reconstruction.
anyways...i had to comment...albeit angrily but go get yourself an education on this subject. perhaps take a visit to facingourrisk.org and read some of the personal storied or visit their forum to see firsthand how much of a difficult decision this really is to
I am glad you are well. I miss you on FOX A.M. show
