Video: Doug Hoffman concedes in New York's 23rd race, again

The saga that has become New York's 23rd Congressional district appears to have finally come to an end.  I say "appears" because this race seems to be never ending due to a number of factors.

First many assumed the race was over the second that the Republicans chose their candidate in Dede Scozzafava.  No primary was held but the Republican leadership felt Scozzafava was the best choice.  New York's 23rd is dominated by Republicans and no Democrat had been elected there since before the Civil War.  Combine those facts with 2009 being a bad election year for Democrats and you had what appeared to be a slam dunk victory for Republicans.

Instead conservatives were not happy with Scozzafava's stance on various issues so they raised up their own man to challenge her.  That man was Doug Hoffmann who quickly became the conservative darling winning the support of people like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin.  All the sudden Hoffman was polling above Scozzafava in the month before the election.

That is when Scozzafava quit leading many to believe (including myself) that Hoffman now had a sure victory in hand as Scozzafava's supporters went over to Hoffman.  Instead Scozzafava actually endorsed the Democratic candidate Bill Owens and we once more had a race.  Owens was declared the winner on election night after gaining a lead of more than 5,000 votes.

Then once more events changed.  A count of the absentee ballots showed Hoffman gaining some on Owens though nearly every political expert thought it was not enough to overcome his deficit.  Still Hoffman smelled an ACORN conspiracy and at the urging of Glenn Beck he officially un-conceded New York's 23rd and began asking for donations to challenge the results.

Today Hoffman wrote what seems to be the final chapter of New York's 23rd when he once more conceded.  With nearly all the absentee ballots counted Bill Owens still had a lead of over 3,000 votes making it mathematically impossible for Hoffman to win.  Of course most thought this when the count began but Hoffman instead listened to Glenn Beck.  So for now New York's 23rd Congressional district is held by the Democrats, but stay tuned.

Below is a clip of Glenn Beck interviewing Hoffman during his rise to conservative stardom.

Beck made Hoffman look like an idiot.
I hope more conservatives take Beck's advice.

Tomorrow Hoffman will un-un-unconcede after hearing from Limbaugh that the Black Panthers were there too conspiring against him.

Now, if Hoffman and the conservatives in this district behave as Al Gore and the democrats did in 2000; (even after every vote in the state of Florida was counted and Bush had more votes) they will whine for 8 years and swear the election was 'stolen'!

I bet there is some kind of fraud going on. But unlike the left, Hoffman will put his district and his country first.
