The NAACP Image Awards were held this weekend in Los Angeles. The awards celebrate achievements by people of color in all aspects of the entertainment industry, including motion pictures, music, television and more. The show was hosted by Steve Harvey, with Dennis Haysbert doing the duties of the announcer. Music icon Gladys Knight sang her classic rendition of "The Way We Were" during the show's memoriam segment. Honorees included Kerry Washington, Jamie Foxx and Harry Belafonte.
Daytime Television was well represented, gathering wins for "The Young and the Restless" actors Kristoff St. John and Tatyana Ali and for "The View."

Daytime TV Examiner was on the NAACP Red Carpet and talked to many of the celebrities who celebrated the night, including actress Shenell Edmonds. The former "One Life To Live" star was nominated for the second time for an NAACP Image Award for her work as Destiny Evans on "One Life To Live." Since Prospect Park announced it's "One Life To Live" revival, Edmonds' role will be recast.
