Charla Nash appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and revealed what her face looks like now after having been attacked by a chimpanzee in February of this year.
And the image was shocking, to say the least.
Nash, was attacked by a chimp owned by Sandra Herold, her friend and employer. Herold had asked Nash for help getting the chimp back into her Stanford, Connecticut, house after it had escaped. When Nash approached the chimp it became very aggressive and attacked Nash, and it proceeded to rip off her nose, lips, and eyelids, and severely damaged her eyes and hands.
Nash has been hospitalized ever since.
She told Oprah that it was only a few days ago that she realized she would never see again. She's taking things one day at a time, being sure to go for a daily walk. She feels that she's the same person, only "looks different."
