Video: Celine Dion speaks Mandarin? Performs Chinese song at ‘Spring Festival’

Celine Dion had the fans in China impressed with her Mandarin performance on Friday. The entertainer was part of a New Year’s Eve celebration as a featured performer at the Spring Festival Gala. The CCTV's Concert had millions of people watching, but most of those fans were in Asia. Back in North America the fans of Celine Dion were expecting the star to belt out her famous Titanic hit (which she did,) but she had another song too.

Taking the stage with Chinese soprano Song Zuying to sing the Chinese folk song called Jasmine Flower nobody realized the song would be sung in the native language. The segment, complete with dancers and a perfect setting, had Song Zuying and Celine Dion singing Mandarin Chinese. The two stars traded lyrics like they had sung before and fans who speak the language felt Dion’s performance was perfect with every word accented properly.

Fans know Celine Dion speaks French and English, but most had no idea that this talented artist could perform in Chinese. Listening to the star on stage, her voice is pristine and the language barrier completely melts away as the star seems to effortlessly perform.

Take a look at the video clip of Celine Dion. It doesn't matter what native tongue might be spoken as the moment transcends into the language of music.
