Amy Beck, 33-year-old teacher, turned herself in for having sex with 14-year-old student. Monday, Amy Beck, a married mother of three and a 6th grade teacher, walked into a police station in California with her lawyer and confessed that she had been having sex with one of her 14-year-old male students.
Beck confessed that they had been having sex for several months. Wednesday night was open house at the school. CNN reported that everything at the school has been going well, according to parent and student reports.
Beck is facing seven years in prison if she is convicted. She has been a respected teacher for 10 years. Beck was apparently guilt ridden, which led to her confession.
Police confirmed the story with the 14-year-old and he is no longer at the same school. There is no indication that any other students were involved. See the CNN video below for more information.
In August of 2009, two Salt Lake City, Utah teachers were accused and arrested for having sex with a 13-year-old student at Bountiful High School. One of the teachers later confessed.
