The accomplished entertainer was the second artist on the field to perform before the beginning of the Super Bowl game in New Orleans on Sunday. While some fans didn't know what to expect, the entertainer didn't miss a beat as she sang the national anthem for the crowd.
"Getting ready to sing my heart out for America! The city is electric!!” tweeted Alicia Keys from her official Twitter account on Sunday only hours prior to showing up on the field and singing.
As fans of Alicia Keys really found the performance to be inspiring, so did the fans. Looking to honor America and reflect on a moment for the country, it seemed to set the tone for the big game and the upcoming halftime show.
