Video: Actress January Jones reports that her hair is falling out from dying it

Sunday night, actress January Jones revealed that she is worried that her hair is falling out because she has been dying her hair for several years; Jones is best known for her role on “Mad Men” as Don Draper’s ex-wife, Betty. Over the last ten years, January’s hair color has changed from a blonde, to brunette and a redhead. The news has created an Internet buzz Monday morning.

Jones appeared at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night and the Sundance Film Festival in Utah last week and she told reporters that she fears she is going bald because her hair is coming out in clumps. She said that she thinks she will need to shave her head and wear a wig for some time.

Jones, 35, said:

I have been every color and now my hair is falling out in clumps.

I like it all colors, it makes you feel different according to what color it is, but I prefer to be blonde. My son recognizes me in photos when I am blonde. He says, ‘Mama’.

I’ve been blonde, red with extensions for this film, then blonde, then black, and now blonde again. I’m going to have to shave it off and wear a wig.

Jones appeared over the weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah to promote her film, “Sweetwater.”

ABC News reported that hair stylists do believe that the chemicals in hair coloring can result in hair loss, but other genetics and medical conditions can also play a part in losing hair.

Over the last few years, Lady Gaga and Kelly Osbourne have also stated that they have lost hair because of hair dye. Osbourne has stated that she has had bald patches on her head after a colorist forgot about her at a hair salon.

Lady Gaga has also complained about losing hair and she believes it has to do with the chemicals in the hair dye. See the video above.
