Glenn Beck distorts even after Van Jones resigns. AP Photo Evan Agostini
We knew some gloating was in order for Glenn Beck following the resignation of Van Jones. To his credit the statement released by Beck showed some restraint though it remains to be seen what Beck will say on the airwaves. Beck in print always seems to be a bit more reasonable then Beck in voice.
Still Beck's statement manages to spread a lot of disinformation in a few short sentences. Allow me to address some more of the Beck distortions below.
Beck states, "The American people stood up and demanded answers."
Actually Glenn Beck and his millions of followers stood up but not all of the "American people." Some supported Van Jones while most I believe simply did not care. As Beck's own network notes below the rest of the "mainstream media" outlets considered your questions largely without merit and chose not to cover them. I never assume that all of the "American people" stand up with me when I ask questions of conservatives. Beck should demonstrate the same kind of restraint.
Beck states, "Instead of providing them [answers], the Administration had Jones resign under cover of darkness."
There has been no proof the administration ordered Van Jones resignation. On the contrary the administration has said they did not pressure Van Jones to resign. Does Beck have any evidence to support his claim? The administration released Van Jones resignation in public and answered questions concerning the resignation on one of the most watched political shows (Meet the Press) the next day. This hardly constitutes hiding under the "cover of darkness."
Beck states, "I continue to be amazed by the power of everyday Americans to initiate change in our government through honest questioning, and judging by the other radicals in the administration, I expect that questioning to continue for the foreseeable future."
Curiously Beck has not responded to the same kind of "honest questioning" done by many of the "liberal bloggers" against him. If failure to answer a question is really equivalent to guilt that Beck is guilty of some really awful things. Beck also declares war on the other "radicals" in the administration. Radical is relatively subjective term but if the term means outside the mainstream of political beliefs than Beck's Libertarian views would certainly make you a "radical."

Nice try, comrade.
If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bulls**t.
It's nice to see you chose not to take the high road and referenced your fellow leftist nuts' claim with the "Beck murder" internet meme nonsense.
Since when has it been Ok to allow Communist to run our country. Obama and his wife hired the communist, so Obama has to believe a great deal of that himself. Birds of a feather flock together, both liberal and conservative. Maybe Obama should take his own advise and take responsibility for hiring Van Jones like he asked the children to do in his speech today.

Maybe the "American People" did not hear from the rest of the media because they (the "Big Three") decided the politics of the "green economy" is best the citizens. It is the media's job to question, not act a propaganda machine for the Administration. It is scary when you look at history to see what has happened to other governments that used the media in such a way.
This piece is ridiculous; Van Jones' "resignation" isn't about Beck, it's about controversial actions and rhetoric coming from Van Jones himself. In other words, Van Jones is his own worse enemy. Beck unveiled the truth about Jones, nothing more. There's an old saying..."the truth hurts"
You have officially embarrassed yourself.
Sleep well!
You are really deluding yourself Mr. Witt to believe that Obama's administration did not go over the options with Mr. Jones on the road ahead.
Of course they wouldn't ask, that would upset their party extremists. And yes, you have plenty there as do the Republicans do and Van Jones happens to be one on the left.
On the lack of coverage of this story or really, the accusations of his activities prior to joining the Obama administration, not a single established TV news said a word. That's been out for two days, where have you been? This is sad since they all seemed to think Mr. Beck is looney. What better way to help Obama than to ridicule Beck into to hybernation? Or maybe they see what everyone else is starting to see? They are being played.
You went "full retard" with this editorial, Simple Jack.
Beck wins! And with idiots like you trying to bring him down, he'll continue to win on every issue.
How on earth can Americans have such weak, simple minds? You people are losing your damned minds.
PS: Glenn Beck is a fascist scumbag and I hope he DIES.
Jennifer says: PS: Glenn Beck is a fascist scumbag and I hope he DIES.
That mighty tolerant of you Jennifer. Are not you far leftists supposed to be open and tolerant?

9/5/09 UPDATE: The New York Times, ABC and NBC hold the line
After the Jones controversy reached a boiling point on Friday, the Washington Post published a story, "White House Says Little on Embattled Jones," on page A-3 of its Saturday edition. But the New York Times remained silent on the story.
Likewise, on Friday night the "CBS Evening News" reported the Jones matter, but ABC's "World News" and "NBC Nightly News" again failed to report the story.

PPS: I will move to France because my far-left views are rejected by this horrible country. You're all poopieheads!
It never ceases to amaze me what a left leaning city like Seattle will produce. Glenn Beck reported on something that the rest of the msm wouldn't do. Just because he has the staff available for doing research on social terrorists should not mean that you put a bull's eye on him. Facts are facts and Van Jones is definitely a racist who harbors ill will towards white people and isn't afraid to state it on most occasions. The Administration should be embarrassed by keeping radicals such as Mr. Jones on its "Friends List".
Just remember, you reap what you sow. This administration is anti-American from the top to the bottom. The Republicans aren't much better. Vote them all out at your earliest convenience. Politics is not a job, it's a service to your country. Push for term limits so that their appeal to lobbyists is minimized.
Obama's connections with all these radical racists are beginning to have many of us concerned. The pattern has gone way beyond coincidence.
