After a year of campaigning to end a cruel 15 year old tradition called "Snappfest" held at Campshore Camp Ground, DNR officials have confirmed that they believe it is canceled and will closely monitor the situation to ensure its cancellation.
Thank you to the hundreds of thousands of GCG (Global Conservation Group), PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), and ALDF (Animal Legal Defense Fund)supporters who took the time to write letters, share articles on Facebook, and made phone calls. Our efforts have finally paid off, and hundreds of turtles will be spared from being taken away from their families and having their heads smashed into the ground.
