Back by popular demand, literally, Maui boy Shane Victorino won the popular vote and won the final roster spot for the 2011 MLB All-Star game. The Phillies centerfielder received over 9 million votes along with support from Shaquille O'Neal to make it to his second All-Star game despite missing the last few games due to a thumb injury and earlier games due to a hamstring injury.

Unfortunately the thumb injury has placed Victorino on the 15-day disabled list and he will not be able to play in the All-Star Game, according to MLB.com. His replacement on the National League roster has yet to be announced.

Victorino leads the Phillies in batting average (.303), runs (53) and triples (9) despite missing 14 games.

The All-star Game will be on July 12 in Phoenix.
