Victoria’s Secret Gives A New Angel Her Wings

It should come as no shock that Karlie Kloss has officially joined the ranks of Victoria’s Secret angels like Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, and Giselle Bundchen.

One of the hottest models on the scene right now, Kloss has been an “it” girl in the modeling world since before she was 18. Having walked the runway for almost every major fashion label from Marc Jacobs to Chanel and already being declared by Vogue Paris one of the top 30 models of the 2000s, can now add being one of Victoria’s Secrets heavenly babes to her growing list of accomplishments. As an Angel, Kloss joins only about a dozen other women, even though the brand features 40 or more models on the runway during their annual televised runway show.

Kloss celebrated the big announcement yesterday with a live twitter Q & A, joined by fellow veteran Angels Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio, using the hashtag #AskAnAngel. During the Q & A, she dished on watching football and her love of chai tea…oh, and her massive girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence (seriously, I dare you to find someone who doesn’t love her). Kloss also revealed that a sense of humor is a must for anyone she is dating. The 5’11” model has been rumored to be dating Joshua Kushner, a tech investor.

Being an angel, however, is going to mean a lot more than just donning a pair of wings and sashaying down the runway once a year in elaborate lingerie. As part of her new role, Kloss will act as an ambassador for Victoria’s Secret, appearing in commercials and ads alongside seasoned Angels like Miranda Kerr and Chanel Iman, as well as at public appearances. Her extensive experience and established career in the fashion world is most certainly a departure from the typical Angel Victoria’s Secret normally recruits, favoring lesser-known models that can be molded into global sensations.

As one of the hottest models out there, she will undoubtedly bring in a slew of great press for Victoria’s Secret and a level of refinement that the brand is currently not known for. Congratulations are due, because as one of the hardest working models in the game Kloss’ wings are more than well deserved. (Business Insider)
