Elle UK's March cover girl is a woman who has come to garner significant respect in the fashion industry following her rise to fame in a female pop singing group, and marrying a hunky famous soccer player: Victoria Beckham.
Beckham, who recently unveiled her collection to much applause from critics, participated in the Las Vegas-based cover shoot set in an ultra-stylish night club setting where Beckham dons gorgeous neon prints from Burberry and Chalayan (among others), and walks around in mini-briefs. Her hair and makeup are flawless, and her poses are breathtakingly surreal.
In the video capturing the shoot, Beckham discusses her admiration for the magazine and how her participation in the shoot provides her with another avenue to "reach out" to her customers. She is certainly a savvy businesswoman with a keen eye on keeping her demographic informed and always finding ways to remain relevant to their needs.
In the magazine article accompanying the shoot, a recent Neiman Marcus showcase is highlighted where top clients in the LA outpost were given the opportunity to preview her collection (leading to thousands of dollars worth of pre-orders) and she gave a speech accompanied by her daughter, and husband. The family incorporation was a tactful move as her clientele consists of women in their prime, who would most certainly relate to someone who had started a family, and did so successfully.
