Victoria Beckham is fit and fab, thanks to the alkaline diet and daily four-mile runs, Celebrity Health Fitness reported.
Beckham, a mother of four, maintains her girlish figure by running on the treadmill at 6 a.m. every morning and following the Alkaline Diet.
While her rail-thin figure has spurred rumors of an eating disorder, Beckham insists she does eat, but controls her weight by staying active.
I'm not one of those people who can't eat carbs. I eat a lot.
I run 4 miles a day on the treadmill. I know that works for me, so I've kind of trained myself. I do lift weights."
Victoria is a longtime follower of the Alkaline Diet, which includes plenty of fresh green vegetables, fruits, beans, lentils, spices, seeds and nuts. The theory is that eating a diet high in alkaline-producing foods will minimize acid buildup in our bodies (which fuels inflammation, aging, and weight gain).
When you ingest too many acidic foods, your pH levels get disrupted, causing weight gain and disease, said Dr. Stephan Domenig, author of The Alkaline Cure.
The alkaline diet can transform your body and mind so you can embrace total health and well-being, said Marta Tuchowska, author of How to Lose Massive Weight with the Alkaline Diet.
Meanwhile, Beckham revealed that she underwent plastic surgery to remove her “torpedo-bazooka" breast implants. "They got removed," said the former Spice Girl. "I don't have them anymore."
Beckham has been busy with her fashion line, and said she has worked hard for her success, which she never takes for granted. Looking back, Victoria said her strong work ethic is what has helped reach the top of the competitive music industry, and the equally tough fashion business.
I was never a natural. I got there in the end because I did believe that if you work hard enough you can achieve a lot.”
Victoria works equally hard to maintain a balance between her busy career and her hectic home life. She credits her husband, soccer star David Beckham, for much of her happiness.
“David is the most wonderful man I have ever met," she said. "He’s a fantastic father. He’s incredibly talented, a wonderful husband. I supported him for many years, and he’s proud of me. He supports me. We’re very equal at home.”
