Vice President Joe Biden humorously charms new Senate during swearing in

CBS News reported on Vice President Joe Biden swearing in new members of the United States Senate in the nation's Capitol on Thursday. Vice President Biden swore in - in ceremonial style - all new members of the United States Senate which was undoubtedly a laborious job for the second highest politician in the land.

Biden, however, made the best of the situation and was in typically rare form by entertaining the new senators and their families during the festivities. During the event which provided photograph opportunities for each new senator and his family, Biden was seen and heard joking around with one senator or his family member after another.

Biden was heard telling one new member of the senate, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, to spread her legs because she was "gonna be frisked". Another example of Biden's playfulness was when he told a relative of South Carolina's Sen. Tim Scott who obviously keeps fit: "If you need any help on your pecs, man, give me a call." The quips were endless.

The 113th Congress opened on Thursday with its new members joining the United States Senate in Washington, D.C.

The real star of the event was Rider, the baby of Senator Chris Murphy. Rider didn't seem so into this whole swearing-in thing at first ("No!" he yelled, swatting away the vice president's hand), but he came around. Watch the Biden charm at work below.
