Cedric Lee and his men are now trying to fix things up, but it appears that Vhong Navarro is very much willing to fight until the end. In an interview with reporters aired on TV Patrol, the popular news program in the Philippines, this morning, June 2, 2014, Atty. Alma Mallonga said her co-lawyers are keeping their options open.
Vhong filed several cases against Cedric Lee and his group right after the mauling incident that happened in a condominium unit last Jan. 22. Vhong suffered severe injuries because of the incident. The actor failed to attend the first day of mediation, but based on his lawyer’s revelation awhile ago, he will attend the next mediation session on July 7.
Meanwhile, the court is still weighing the petition for bail filed by Cedric Lee, Zimmer Raz and Deniece Cornejo, who had just celebrated her 23rd birthday inside the Anti-Transnational Crime Unit office of the PNP's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group. Aside from their petition for bail for the non-bailbale serious illegal detention case filed by the “It’s Showtime” host, they have also filed a motion for stay.
According to the report, Cedric and Zimmer are wishing to stay at the National Bureau of Investigation detention cell while the cases are being heard. In an interview with local media several months ago, Zimmer Raz and Cedric Lee confirmed that some of the inmates of the Taguig City Jail are planning to beat them.
In the spirit of fairness, Judge Paz Esperanza Cortez of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 271 decided to conduct an ocular inspection to know if the threats are true or not. Unfortunately, the lady judge is still weighing the petition filed by Cedric and Zimmer while Vhong Navarro is doing his usual activities in life outside of jail.
His regular show “It’s Showtime” is doing well as far as TV rating is concerned. He already starred in the movie “Da Possessed” with sexy actress Solenn Heusaff, undoubtedly, Vhong is happy after the controversy.
