As expected, Vhong Navarro, one of the hosts of Its Showtime, revealed important matters on the alleged rape issue being thrown to him by his detractors online. In an emotional interview with Buzz Ng Bayan host Boy Abunda this afternoon, Jan. 26, 2014 (Philippine time), the comedian revealed that he is not a rapist contrary to reports circulating in print and social media these past two days.
According to him, he was there because of an invitation from Denise Millet Cornejo, the 22-year old girl mentioned by ace movie director Chito Rono, his manager. "They beat me up. They forced me to say I have raped my friend," Vhong said during his interview with Boy Abunda.
Those lines made his supporters cry, and if you are following his interview on Buzz Ng Bayan on ABS-CBN while you are in the internet, you will notice that many of the netizens who are watching his interview this afternoon, are getting mad at Denise Millet Cornejo and Cedric Lee. Vhong accused Cedric Lee as one of his perpetrators in a mauling incident at The Fort last Jan. 22.
Karen Davila, one of the news anchors of Bandila, the top rating late night news program of ABS-CBN, tweeted earlier that a warrant of arrest should be issued against them. "A warrant of arrest should be issued against these men who mauled Vhong Navarro now," Karen tweeted. According to Joselle Chua she still loves Vhong for being so honest. "I believe in him. I still love him for being honest. I am hoping for your fastest recovery and justice for you," she tweeted.
