Just yesterday, March 14, 2014, Tony Calvento, a brave Filipino journalist, confirmed that Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo, Zimmer Raz and Bernice Lee had elevated the case to the Court of Appeals. The report was also posted on inquirer.net, the news and entertainment portal of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

"Cedric Lee and company has gone up to the Court of Appeals to ask the Department of Justice to stop the Preliminary Investigation. The CA ordered the DOJ to explain why a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) should not be issued to stop the hearings," Mr. Calvento posted.

After reading the news, some observers commented, according to them, the Court of Appeals should withdraw its order to the DOJ because the department is still investigating the incident. Some followers of Mr. Calvento pacified the fans and supporters of actor-TV host Vhong Navarro.

They said Cedric and several others involved in the mauling of Navarro were just exercising their constitutional rights, but despite their effort to pacify the netizens who are following the case of Vhong Navarro, many of them continued and questioned the CA's order and showed their disappointments.

And speaking of disappointment, in his latest and updated Facebook post, Tony Calvento revealed that DOJ Sec. Leila De Lima was also upset upon hearing the order of the Court of Appeals telling her department to explain why the preliminary investigation should not be stopped.

"Sec. De Lima called me and said many things. The bottom line is that she is so upset that the Court of Appeals won't make them do their jobs. This is just the Preliminary Investigation and the case has already been submitted for resolution. They (CA) will have their day when this case is brought before them. She is however confident that the CA will look at this case and see that the DOJ is doing its job as mandated. This is an Executive function and not a judicial one. We talked for quite a while and she sounds confident. Let's all do our share too, Tony Calvento posted.
