Roxanne Cabanero was one of the headlines on Buzz Ng Bayan formerly The Buzz, the longest-running showbiz oriented-talk show in the Philippines hosted by no less than the king of talk Mr. Boy Abunda together with Janice De Belen and Carmina Villaroel aired on ABS-CBN Sunday, March 16, 2014.
Roxanne together with Atty. Virgilio Batalla, her legal counsel, granted the invitation of Boy Abunda for an interview to clear some important matters regarding the rape case she filed at the Pasig Prosecutors Office against Vhong Navarro. And as expected, the alleged rape victim narrated the incident.
She confirmed that her fellow contestants for a beauty contest sometime in 2010 stayed in a hotel, but according to her, the exact date when the rape incident happened is still uncleared issue on her mind. It was an emotional interview but despite her being emotional, some observers notice her carefulness every time she talks about the issue.
Meanwhile, due to Atty. Virgilio Batalla's call for space, Tony Calvento, a very brave Filipino journalist aired his statement on Buzz Ng Bayan. Mr. Calvento said he didn't know Atty. Virgilio Batalla, according to him, it was his first time to hear the lawyer's name.
As you all know, atty. Batalla is asking Mr. Calvento to stop posting about the latest development of the case on his official Facebook page because he felt that his client was violated when Mr. Tony Calvento posted the complaint-affidavit of Roxanne. In his statement, the brave journalist denied the allegation, he said "That's not true, in fact, I even withheld her name because she claimed that she was an alleged rape victim."
