Tony Calvento posted several photos of Edgardo Sampana on his official Facebook page this morning, May 16, 2014, according to the journalist, Edgardo is one of the eight accused in the mauling as verified by actor-TV host Vhong Navarro. His name has become a puzzle to the authorities because nobody knew who he really was when his face appeared on the CCTV footage gathered by the National Bureau of Investigation in Forbeswood.

Some observers thought he will not be recognized because no one was coming out to reveal his identity. Until one day, Tony Calvento received several messages setting an appointment with him for a conversation about the possible testimony of Jed Fernandez against his co-accused including Cedric Lee, Zimmer Raz, Ferdinand Guerrero, Deniece Cornejo, Jose Paolo Calma and Bernice Lee.

At first, he tried not to reveal the identity the person, but after a few weeks, Tony revealed that he talked to Manuel Jojo Tan, an emissary of Jed Fernandez. Based on his revelation, he met Manuel Tan at a restaurant, and while he was in the area, Jojo Tan disclosed his intention to Tony, but before he started to reveal some information about the mauling incident, the journalist forced him to give the name of the other accused holding the duck tape, without a doubt, Jojo Tan confirmed that it was Edgardo Sampana.

Anyway, Edgardo Sampana, the other accused who was holding the duck tape, along with Jed Fernandez, JP Calma and Ferdinand Guerrero remain at large, but based on the latest revelation of Manuel Tan, Jed Fernandez is sick. Incidentally, Vhong Navarro is now in the court to testify and narrate the events on the evening of Jan. 22, reports added that after his testimony, he will also be cross-examined by Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz’s lawyer.

Aside from Cedric and Zimmer, reports confirmed that Deniece Cornejo is also inside the courtroom this afternoon, (Philippine time) attending the hearing for her petition for bail.
