The Vhong Navarro-Cedric Lee-Deniece Cornejo case is still making the rounds on social media this afternoon, March 15, 2014, almost two months after the mauling happened, not only because of the three of them but also because of Roxanne Cabanero. Three days ago, Roxanne Cabanero came out and attended the preliminary investigation of the rape case she filed at the Pasig Prosecutors Office with her legal counsel Atty. Virgilio Batalla, founding chairman of Lingap Pinoy Foundation Inc.
Allegedly after her arrival, Roxanne talked to the local media and looked for Vhong, unfortunately, Navarro did not attend the investigation, according to the report, the actor-dancer was only represented by his legal counsel Atty. Alma Mallonga. The former beauty contestant from Davao became emotional while talking to the local media, according to ABS-CBN News, she almost cried when interviewed by the press people.
That was three days ago, today things have changed because she is now asking Tony Calvento to stop posting his on his official Facebook page. Based on Mr. Calvento's updated post, Roxanne Cabanero's camp is accusing him for violating Roxanne for posting her affidavit on Facebook.
To prove that he is innocent and not violating Roxanne, Mr. Calvento encouraged his followers to read his posted affidavit of the former beauty contestant. Read his statement below.
Watch Buzz ng Bayan tomorrow. Atty Virgilio Batalla wants me to stop posting and meddling into their case. He wants me to stop posting on this page. My official website. Roxanne accuses me of violating her by posting her affidavit her on this page. Read my affidavit she made.
I posted it and said 'here's a faithful reproduction of her Complaint-Affidavit'. I even withheld her name because she claimed she as an alleged rape victim. I posted it Feb. 20, 2014. You'll hear my reply tomorrow.
Since day one of the mauling incident, Tony Calvento, one of the most credible and respected journalists in the Philippines, showed his support to Vhong Navarro. Some people are questioning his intention to help, they said he is receiving money from Vhong Navarro's camp.
He immediately replied and defended himself after reading some malicious messages posted on his official Facebook page, according to him, he is not receiving money from the victim, he added that he offered his services to Vhong for free. And now, he is facing another issue against Cabanero. He promised to post his statement on his Facebook page regarding Roxanne's claim.
