Just this afternoon, April 11, 2014, a day after the dismissal of a rape complaint filed by Deniece Cornejo against Vhong Navarro, a report confirming the filing of a Php1,605,00.00 damage suit against Roxanne Cabanero, who has accused Vhong Navarro of allegedly raping her five years ago, is also circulating online. Based on a posted article of ABS-CBN News, the case was already filed by Slimmers World International at the Makati Regional Trial Court last April 8, 2014.
Reports claimed that the Slimmers World demands the former beauty contestant to pay Php1M for the damage sustained by the organizer's goodwill and business reputation. The organizers are also asking Roxanne to pay Php400.000.00 for corrective damages and Php205,000,00 for legal costs.
Obviously, Ms. Cabanero, who was allegedly kicked out of the competition for "Binibining Pilipinas" several years ago, is now having trouble almost a month and a half after she filed a rape complaint against Vhong Navarro. For some observers, Roxanne should now withdraw her case against the actor because it will also be dismissed by the DOJ.
As you all know, the DOJ has already dismissed the rape complaint filed by Deniece against Vhong due to lack of evidence. A lot of people believe that this is the right time for the former beauty contestant to come out and reveal the real truth behind her allegation against the actor-TV host. Unfortunately, Vhong has already sued her for perjury. So what would be the future for Roxanne Cabanero?
Incidentally, Deniece Corneo, her inspiration in filing the case is the subject of conversation of the netizens this evening. Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, her lawyer is confirming that she is ready to face the charges against her, but according to Atty. Alma Mallonga, legal counsel of Vhong Navarro, Ms. Cornejo should be careful because she is the most vulnerable among her co-accused.
