Just this morning, May 16, 2014, (US. time) Tony Calvento confirmed that he had a talk with Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, based on his updated Facebook post, the lawyer is now representing Deniece Cornejo contrary to his previous statement that he was just a family friend and Rod Cornejo’s legal counsel. Just minutes after posting the report, the lawyer received negative comments from the netizens who are following the actor’s legal battle against Cedric Lee, Zimmer Raz, Deniece Corejo and several others involved in the incident.

Aside from the netizens, fans and supporters of Vhong Navarro, the journalist himself, Tony Calvento, also revealed his disappointment with Atty. Ferdie Topacio’s decision, but despite that, he still wished him well. Obviously, the lawyer is facing with a very serious fight against the actor-TV host because the allegation of Deniece Cornejo about rape was already dismissed by the three-man panel of the Department of Justice.

Meanwhile, in an interview with “Bandila,” the late night news program of the biggest television network in the country, ABS-CBN, Atty. Ferdie Topacio confirmed that Deniece is sticking to her previous story about Vhong Navarro and turning the tables against her co-accused is still not included in her agenda. He also said that Deniece is doing well in detention under the circumstances.

As you all know, Deniece is also wishing to be permanently detained at a detention cell in Camp Crame while the grave coercion and serious illegal detention case filed by Vhong Navarro before the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 271 are being heard. Her co-accused, Cedric Lee and Zimmer have also filed their motion for stay at the NBI detention cell, but like what the report said, they also have to wait for the lady judge’s decision.

In an interview with reporters several weeks ago, Cedric and Zimmer revealed that they are willing to stay at the NBI detention cell compared to the city jail.
