Based on an updated Facebook post of Tony Calvento this morning, May 19, 2014 (U.S. time) Vhong Navarro will meet Cedric Lee, Zimmer Raz and Deniece Cornejo at the sala of Judge Paz Esperanza Cortez of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 271 on the 20th of May. According to the brave journalist, the hearing for the serious illegal detention case filed by the actor-TV host against Cedric and his men, will resume on that day.

The fans and supporters of Vhong Navarro are hoping that the authorities will tighten the security to avoid the possible confrontation between the actor and Deniece Cornejo’s grandmother. As you all know, Florencia Cornejo approached and confronted Vhong outside the courtroom when he was about to leave. Last May 16, during break time, Florencia was allegedly seen in the washroom waiting for Vhong to get out of the court.

Fortunately, Atty. Alma Mallonga was there to prevent the confrontation, but because of her interception, the lawyer received criticism from Florencia Cornejo’s camp. Florencia, accompanied by her lawyer, immediately went to the police precinct and made a blotter against her.

Despite the allegation, the lawyer believes that the case against Cedric Lee and his men including Deniece Cornejo will push through. In an interview with Julius Babao on Bandila aired on ABS-CBN Monday night, (Philippine time) Mallonga clarified some important issues about Deniece Cornejo.

According to Atty. Alma, the ball is now in the hands of the court if Deniece is willing to testify, but the lawyer believes that a state witness must not appear to be the guiltiest if he/she is willing to testify. The lawyer also believes that she can send Cedric Lee and his men to jail.

Several weeks ago, some observers claimed that Deniece will testify against Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz, they said she will turn the table against her co-accused when she came out. The TV and print ad model immediately dismissed the allegation after her submission to the PNP chief, according to her, the allegation is not true because she is willing to face Vhong Navarro in court.
