The ladies of the entertainment world came out on Sunday night for the annual VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul. The lineup was packed full of heavy hitting female performance celebrating the music and sharing a special purpose for the show. The evening benefits the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of music education in a child's life.
The night kicked off with a rousing medley of soulful reworks of You Keep Me Hanging On, Spotlight, Real Love, and Since U Been Gone performed by respective divas Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige and Kelly Clarkson. Mavis Staples, Erykah Badu and Chaka Kahn then sang a high-energy rendition of I'll Take You There. Other highlights include Florence Welch with a performance of Walking on Broken Glass.
While the ladies were all about sharing the music, there were plenty of memories as well. Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings and Wanda Jackson performed You Know I'm No Good, and Florence Welch performed Back to Black in the segment remembering Amy Winehouse.
Take a look at the photo slide show of all the divas who came to perform to help the music. VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul can be seen on Monday night on VH1 Primetime.
