VGX reveals and winners

Last night, Spike held their annual Video Game Awards, now branded as VGX and for good reason. One, hardcore gamers viewed the previous award shows as goofy, bad representations of what gamers are. Two, those who watched usually did so to see the big reveals. VGX still has the awards, but now the reveals were more prevalent than ever. While nothing too surprising came out of it, there were a few great looking demos and trailers. Below is a summary of everything that happened and for those that want to see it themselves, here is the full show.

  • Telltale Games is working on Borderlands and Game of Thrones adventure games for 2014
  • Tomb Raider is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One in January 2014
  • Cranky Kong will be playable in Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze and will release in February 2014
  • Quantum Break, the Xbox One exclusive, showed off new gameplay
  • South Park: The Stick of Truth revealed new gameplay
  • New footage from Destiny was revealed
  • Double Fine’s adventure game, Broken Age, showed off gameplay, announced Elijah Wood would be a voice, and also said it’d be out in January 2014
