Veterans Week just around the corner

It's almost time for Branson to lay out the royal welcome for America's veterans. November 5 begins the event with an evening cruise on the Showboat Branson Belle. The popular mini-reunions will again honor veterans from WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, the Gulf Wars and Women Veterans.

Almost all shows offer special tributes during the week - and all year round. The Military Gala sponsored by the POW Network and the 236th Marine Corps Birthday Ball are both rich in tradition, decoration and programming.

Veterans Village and the Tactical Operations Center will open on November 5 at the Factory Merchants Mall (Red Roof Mall). The mall will also be home to the free-lunch-for-veterans from Monday November 7 - Thursday November 10. The Rose Petal Memorial and Appreciation Luncheon has moved to the Stone Castle Hotel (formerly the Settle Inn) on Green Mountain Drive. The Day Room, located in the mall, has become a "favorite place" for veterans to hang out, join in the music, visit with friends and to meet new people.

The week closes with a parade on November 11, followed by the Tony Orlando Show. For a complete list of activities, go to www.bransonveterans.com.
