Veterans Retraining Program

In 2011, the President signed the VOW to Hire Heroes Act 2011. Its purpose is to provide the tools needed for Veterans to make the transition from military service to being civilians. The Act offers education, rehabilitation and training needed to become gainfully employed and successfully transition into civilian life.

Under the Act there are several programs from VOC Rehabilitation designed to provide up to one-year of rehabilitation, vocational and employment benefits to service-disabled veterans; and Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) offers up to 12 months of training assistance to unemployed Veterans from ages 35-60 years old; to Seamless Transition for those that is unemployed, looking for employment or require additional training and/or education for that ideal job.

Additionally, employers receive tax credits for hiring a Veteran. VRAP is now accepting applications. In order to participate the following is required:

· Name and location of school of interest

· Program or education of interest

· High Demand of Interest Occupation
