Counting country veterans names shown in a courtyard remembered keeps a build team at work at La Colonia community center in Solana Beach. Veterans Day, near two thousand people gathered there to pay respects the day they knew the veterans will not be missed.

The build began.

San Diegans can still support the project and purchase a terracotta tile. The courtyard tile will state the veteran's name, rank, branch and, if chosen, the war served and the years of service.

An iron arch at the main entry and pilasters will lead visitors into the Veterans Honor Courtyard behind a trellis. Above the terracotta, military seals will mark a stone Veterans Wall.

Visitors can take the time to reflect at the courtyard pool.
