Veterans job expo scheduled for July 24 in Columbus

RecruitMillitary's bimonthly, “super-sized” magazine designed to help transitioning and veteran military and their spouses find outstanding civilian jobs, business opportunities, and continuing education programs.

A Veteran Opportunity Expo, a hiring event for veterans and other men and women with military background, will be held at the Aladdin Shrine Event & Conference Center, 3850 Stelzer Road in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, July 24, 2014 and will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Expo is being produced by the military-to-civilian recruitment firm, RecruitMilitary, and is sponsored by Chesapeake Oilfield Services and Disabled American Veterans (DAV). All veterans, those who already have civilian work experience, as well as personnel who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members are invited to attend.

More than 30 employers, franchisors, educational institutions, and government agencies are expected to participate at the Expo. Already signed up are Chesapeake Oilfield Services; Lockheed Martin; PNC; The Kroger Co.; Time Warner Cable; Express Scripts, Inc.; The Home Depot; Prudential Financial; DeVry University; The Brickman Group; Two Men and a Truck; Edward Jones; Enterprise; American Environmental Group, Ltd.; NTB-National Tire and Battery; DAV; Wal-Mart; Bed Bath & Beyond; The Superior Group; Roto-Rooter; Air Force Reserve; First Command Financial Planning; Superior Auto, Inc.; Roadmaster Drivers School; My Computer Career; Heavy Construction Academy; Aptalis Pharmatech, Inc.; The Art Institutes; and Georgia College of Construction.

RecruitMilitary will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion, an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.4 million members in nearly 14,000 posts throughout the world.

RecruitMilitary has also scheduled the next veteran hiring event in Ohio for October 2, 2014 in Cincinnati .

RecruitMilitary distributes more than 65,000 copies of each issue of Search & Employ®, a bimonthly print magazine, to military bases throughout the world, National Guard and reserve units, job seekers who attend RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expos, and military-to-civilian recruiters nationwide.
