Veterans invited to contribute to online archive

MidPointe Library System and Miami University's Voice of America Learning Center have collaborated to honor local heroes by launching an online photo archive, collecting and cataloging images from veterans of West Chester and Liberty Township.

A session to scan, and immediately return, photos will be held on Friday, February 15 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, in the Board Room of the MidPointe Library West Chester, located at 9363 Centre Pointe Drive.

Appointments are not necessary and veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces and their family members are invited to submit photos from time in military service. The MidPointe Library System has an extensive catalogue of images regarding local history.

This new project will be the catalyst to increasing the collection of material from the southern portion of the Library’s service area. For more information regarding this collection, please contact Rod Nintz, Director of Miami Voice of America Learning Center, at (513) 895-8865 or Cari Hillman, MidPointe Library System’s Public Relations Manager, at (513) 424-1251 ext.211.

The Voice of America Learning Center is located adjacent to I-75, midway between Cincinnati and Dayton, with easy access via the Tylersville Road or Liberty Way exits. In addition to academic and professional education offerings, the VOA Learning Center hosts an ongoing series of community events including art exhibitions and family theatre performances throughout the year
