Veteran-to-Farmers program looks to train greenhouse managers

On this Veterans Day we all take a moment to remember those who have served, fallen, and sacrificed their lives and livelihood defending this country. However, the global war and the faltering economies are presenting returning soldiers and veterans with a whole new set of challenges: earning a living after the fighting is done.

This is what Buck Adams has set out to fix. Adams, owner of Circle Fresh Farms Inc., is developing a Veterans-to-Farmers training program for vets lookign for work. The program is a 9-month, paid, on the job program which trains veterans to manage greenhouses and farms. Participants in the program learn everything from business management to hydroponic growing methods.

Circle Fresh Farms is a Colorado-based network of farms and greenhouses that provides sustainably grown and organic food. "We grow produce in the community for the community." Circle Fresh prides itself on their high-tech, efficient procedures for growing great food for Colorado residents.

The graduates from the Veterans-to-Farmers program will serve to not only develop more jobs in the field of hydroponic farming, but may also expand the network of Circle Fresh Farms.
