Veteran's Day Celebration at Truman Library

Do you want an inspiring, awesome, celebrity-filled Veteran's Day Celebration? Come to the Harry S Truman Library on Sunday, November 11, 2012.

This celebration is a tribute to our United States Veterans. All Veterans Day activities are free to the public. Museum admission is free for the day, open 12 - 5 p.m.

The Veterans Day program includes:

  • 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Make a Card for a Veteran (Lobby)
    1:00 p.m. - Story Time for Young Children
    (Life and Times Exhibit - Children's Nook)
  • 2:00 - 2:30 p.m. Patriotic Concert
    UMKC Honor Brass
  • 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Veterans Day Program
    (State of Missouri Auditorium)
    The Honorable Ike Skelton Veterans Day Ceremony
    Remarks by The Honorable Ike Skelton
    Keynote Address by Maj. Gen. Robert H. Scales
    With Kansas City icon Ida McBeth and Missouri's own Wentworth Military Academy
  • 4:00 - 4:15 p.m. Courtyard Ceremony
    Ceremonial Wreath Laying followed by a 21-Gun Salute and Taps (Courtyard)
  • 4:15 - 5:00 p.m. Reception - Atrium
    Reception to Honor Veterans

Veterans will be given priority seating for the concert and program, however seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-seated basis.
