Very pleasant weather expected to continue through Memorial Day

A large area of high pressure extends from the upper Mid West, southeast through the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, and into the Mid Atlantic states. Over the weekend, this feature will slide southeast across our area maintaining dry conditions with plenty of sunshine expected.

The dry and pleasant weather is expected to last through Memorial Day. Temperatures will gradually warm through Monday.

Here is the forecast: For today, mostly sunny with highs reaching the low 70s. Winds NW 5-10 mph.

Tonight, clear with lows in the mid to upper 40s. Winds W 5 mph.

Sunday, sunny with highs climbing to the mid to upper 70s. Winds W 5 mph.

Sunday night, clear with lows in the low 50s.

Monday, sunny with highs around 80.

Extended Analysis: High pressure will move to our southeast Monday night, allowing a warm front to lift northward across the area. Clouds will increase early Monday night, with showers and thunderstorms possible after midnight.

The warm front will move to our north Tuesday morning. A cold front will move southeastward across the area Tuesday afternoon or evening bringing another round of showers and thunderstorms.

High pressure will build back across our area Wednesday and Thursday bringing sunshine and dry conditions along with comfortable temperatures.

Here is the extended forecast: Monday night, increasing clouds with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Lows will be near 60.

Tuesday, partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be near 80.

Tuesday night, mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the evening. Lows will be in the mid 50s.

Wednesday, partly sunny with highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday night, clear with lows around 50.

Thursday, sunny with highs around 70.
