This knitting book is the best of 'Very Easy Vogue' from Vogue Knitting Magazine. "Very Easy Sweaters" has patterns by Cathy Carron, Rosemary Drysdale, Kaffe Fassett, Louisa Harding, Sasha Kagan, Kristin Omdahl, Tom Scott and others. It contains 50 simple, stylish designs.
A hardbound book with patterns divided into stockinette, light and easy, dramatic shapes, cables and stripes and colorwork. If you are looking for basic stitches and simple finishing, you will have opened the right book. The styles run the gamut. There are sweater patterns of sporty and casual, romantic, classic, trendy, sexy, retro...you get the idea. Not every sweater may be your style but, with 50 to choose from, there are enough patterns you will want to knit. That makes purchasing this book worth your while.
"Gathered Cardi" by Cathy Carron is short sleeved with a raglan inset. The borders and collar are worked in seed stitch. There is a gathered bodice, then flairs to the top of the hip with a one button closure. Rosemary Drysdale has an "Oversized T-Shirt", short sleeved, bands of color and a turtleneck that spills into a cowl.
In dramatic shapes we find a 'Tapered Pullover" by Renee Lorion. A change of needle sizes creates the tapered look. The bell sleeve edge as well as the hem and neckline have a lace edging that changes the look from ordinary to "must have". If poncho's are not your style, think again with Amanda Keep's colorblock design. Worked on size 10 needles in mohair/nylon/wool yarn, it has a refined look without the bulk. The placement of colors gives it its shape.
