Verve Coffee Coming to DTLA

Santa-Cruz based coffee roaster Verve Coffee is joining the ranks of Handsome and Stumptown in downtown LA, as they plan to open their first Los Angeles café in the Fashion District summer of 2014.

Roasting and serving in DTLA has proven successful for Handsome Coffee Roasters, so it’s no wonder other roasters want in on that action. Downtown is already home to great cafes like Urth Caffe, Demitasse and Spring For Coffee, but Angelenos surely won’t mind another shop that isn’t a Starbucks.

According to the LA Times, Verve’s new café will be located in an 1800-square foot location on Spring Street, between 8th and 9th, a block away from the Ace Hotel. They also have plans to open other cafes in the Arts District and West Hollywood within the next year.

Prior to opening the location, Verve plans to open a training and tasting room in the Arts District in support of wholesale accounts and public events, which Verve plans to continue when they move to the permanent location.

In the meantime, you don’t need to go to Santa Cruz to try Verve roasts – you can find Verve at Fix Coffee in Echo Park and Balconi in West LA.
