Rothenhausler, 24, says she's expecting to get back in the cage as soon as Invicta FC 8, so "Cyborg" would be the perfect opponent to secure the ever-elusive No. 1 rank among female 145-pounders.
"Actually I heard Katalina Malungaha called me out not too long ago, which hey man, any place, any time. Let me know. If she wants some more, I got some for ya. But I mean Shannon and Invicta, they are awesome and whoever they want to see me up against, I'm down to put on a show and do my thing. Obviously 'Cyborg' is my size and we're in the same weight class and she's number one. And that's what I want, so I want to fight her and I want to take that from her," Rothenhausler told WMMA Jam Live co-host Stacey Lynn. "I have a lot of respect for her. She's a hell of an athlete. I think eventually that's the fight that the fans are going to want to see.
"Her against I, just bringing the power and bringing the... you know that's what it's all about, right? That's what the people want. They want the blood and the intensity and the craziness. I guarantee you her against I will have all of that."
Rothenhausler isn't on the Dec. 7 Invicta FC 7 card, but she would like to compete at the promotion's next event. Invicta FC 8 is likely for Jan. or Feb. of 2014.
"Hopefully IFC8 here. You're going to have to tune in and find out but I have a good feeling about it," Rothenhausler said. "As you know I'm not on IFC7, but it's an awesome stacked card. I know that the boss definitely wants to have shows more often They usually do one every three months and I think they are looking to do a couple more because like you said earlier, women's MMA is blowing up right now. This is the place to be, the time to be doing it, so definitely soon you'll be seeing me around. Don't worry."
Rothenhausler may or may not be ready for "Cyborg," as the California native isn't yet ranked in the top 10 in the world among featherweights. However, no one has made it out of the first round with her and she has four straight knockout victories.
"Cyborg" recently stated that she would like to return to the Invicta FC cage in January, so perhaps Rothenhausler could see where she's at in her career by stepping in against the legend.
