'Veronica Mars' movie trailer: The super sleuth is back

On Thursday, January 2 E! Online posted the official movie trailer for the upcoming "Veronica Mars" movie which will be released in theaters this March. The movie was made using funds from a Kickstarter campaign last year, a decade after the television series was canceled after three seasons. The super sleuth is unexpected brought back into her former private eye life to help an old friend.

The trailer features tons of new footage not previously released through the Kickstarter campaign and reveals even more original cast members have returned for the movies. Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) is now a successful lawyer in the New York City area and she lives with her boyfriend Piz, who she met during the third season of the show when they both attended Hearst College.

One day a breaking news story reveals that a young woman was murdered in Neptune and the prime suspect is her boyfriend Logan Echolls, Veronica's former flame. Veronica's return to her hometown also happens just in time for her ten year high school reunion, so she gets Wallace and Mac and heads off to the reunion which features old friends, old enemies and plenty of action and sass. Gia, Dick, Madison are just a few of the people who get some great scenes with Veronica.

Meanwhile, Veronica also dives head first into the investigation and believes that Logan is innocent of the crime, but needs the evidence to prove it. Keith Mars and former deputy sheriff Leo D'Amato are two of the people Veronica turns to for help with Logan's case, but there might be an even bigger crime going on.

The trailer is also heavy on the Logan and Veronica scenes, and the pair haven't spoken since Veronica left Neptune. As they reconnect and try to clear Logan's name they also seem to repair their bond so spending time together isn't just for the case anymore.

The film will be released in theaters on March 14, 2014 nearly one year after the Kickstarter campaign was launched and broke records for the largest amount of funds raised in the shortest amount of time.
