'Veronica Mars' movie trailer released

Veronica Mars is back!

The famous private investigator returns, this time on the big screen, in the Veronica Mars movie.

The fan favorite TV show picks up 10 years after Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) finishes high school and finds her living in New York being interviewed by Jamie Lee Curtis for a position as an attorney in what looks like a prestigious firm.

Leaving her PI days behind her since her teenage years, Veronica is drawn to a case in her hometown of Neptune, California where her former boyfriend Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) is accused of murdering his girlfriend. The case hits home, and is nostalgic for fans, as Logan was formerly accused of murdering his girlfriend and Veronica's best friend, Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried), 10 years ago.

Veronica returns to Neptune and so begins her investigation. Along for the ride are a couple of familiar faces which includes Percy Daggs III, Ryan Hansen, Krysten Ritter, Tina Majorino, Frances Capra, Ken Marino, Enrico Colantoni, Chris Lowell, Martin Starr and Max Greenfield.

The film adaptation of the popular TV series began when show creator Rob Thomas and Bell put the idea on Kickstarter last year hoping to raise $2 million for the film. This prompted fans of the show to react quickly, with numbers tripling over $5.7 million.

Veronica Mars the movie will be released March 14, 2014.
