“Veronica Mars” fans are going to get their movie. Fans of the former TV series were devastated with the show ended in 2007, but with their help, a movie will be made, and soon, Perez Hilton reported on Mar. 14.
According to the report, “Veronica Mars” stars Kristen Bell and creator, Rob Thomas, needed to prove that there was enough fan interest before execs would agree to pick up the movie. The pair released a hilarious video, with a goal of $2 million in mind.
“Veronica Mars” fans accepted the challenge to get the movie made, and donated like crazy. The kickstart reached its goal in just eleven hours, and totally shocked Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas.
"I knew Veronica Mars fans were cool, but I had no idea they could rally with such power. They are unstoppable — just like Veronica. I will have a permanent blush on my face, feeling so lucky to be associated with this entire thing,” Bell said.
According to Rob Thomas the “Veronica Mars” movie, which will involve a murder mystery, and likely a class reunion, is set for a 2014 release, and fans couldn’t be happier.
