Fans of the television series "Veronica Mars" set a new record on Kickstarter yesterday afternoon. The group raised over 2.5 million dollars in just 10 hours on the fundraising website in order to see their dreams of their favorite canceled tv show coming back as a movie.
The page, which was created yesterday morning by creator Rob Thomas and lead actress Kristen Bell, had until April 12th to reach its goal. It included many different kinds of prize exchanges for backing the film, including a digital copy of the script and a walk on role in the final product.
"Veronica Mars" aired on the WB (now The CW) in 2004 and was canceled in 2007. The film will begin shooting this summer and will be released next year.
