One dog was found dead, another near death, and two more dogs were found severely malnourished when police officers responded to a complaint of animal cruelty at a home in West Pawlet, Vermont in late March according to an article published today on the WPTZ.com website.

When police arrived at the home, one of the dogs was dead in a cage. One of the three dogs found living had to be euthanized because of its condition. There's no word on the condition of the two dogs who remain alive.

The man, Keith Prevost of West Pawlet, Vermont, was released and ordered to report to court.
