Verizon Wireless will bring new jobs to Huntsville

Governor Robert Bentley announced Verizon Wireless is expanding and adding 400 new jobs to Alabama, 300 jobs in Huntsville. Mayor Tommy Battle joined him at the State Capitol for the announcement.

The other 100 jobs will be in Decatur, Madison, Florence, Guntersville, Cullman, Birmingham and Dothan.

Verizon will host an Open House Thursday, May 8 from 10am -6 pm.

The open house will include a tour of the facility and reviewing positions available. The perks will also highlight a game room, private gym and in-house cafeteria.

Beverly Mullins, executive director of Human Resources at Verizon said they also work closely with military veterans. Their trained recruiters understand what experience military veterans have to offer.

Verizon offers health care benefits and participation in the 401(k) plan.

They are looking forward to fill positions by the end of the year.

This announcement brings hope and excitement to Huntsville. Earlier Huntsville felt the resurgence of employment increase with the opening and expanding of Remington, Boeing and Toyota companies.

The leaders of Huntsville are looking forward to continued growth as new jobs continue to grow.
