In a test conducted by contributor James Pikover and the Mobile Beat website, Verizon was named the best overall cell phone service provider at this year's CES technology show in Las Vegas. With the huge 150,000 plus crowd in town last week who all depended on their cell phones for communication, Pikover and the website decided to determine who provided the best service during the massive event.
The service providers compared were...
Verizon
AT&T
Sprint
T-Mobile
Verizon was named the best mobile service provider in this real - world test conducted at last week's CES event with results published earlier today. Every carrier reportedly provided similar call coverage and quality, but data speed and coverage varied wildly. Verizon was the only provider that that had consistent solid performance. The other three carriers had poor or inconsistent upstream bandwidth which downgraded their relative service coverage.
T-Mobile was listed as the carrier with weakest overall quality. AT&T performed poorly when used as a hotspot during the show and in tall Strip hotels where data speeds were slow and calls were dropped on higher floor levels.
