Los Angeles industry analyst Paul Mueller has revealed today that Verizon will most likely be the first carrier to get the much-hyped Samsung Galaxy S II phone in the United States. It will be called the Samsung Function and it could arrive at Verizon stores (Los Angeles locations here) as early as August 12.
“I’m not sure about the exact date, but I’ve been told that August 12 is a possibility. It will arrive first on Verizon and then the rest of the carriers within a month. Samsung will market this directly against the iPhone 5,” says Mr. Mueller.
The Samsung Galaxy S II includes a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera.
