Venus Williams loses to unseeded Tsvetana Pironkova in 2010 Wimbledon quarterfinals (photos, video)

No. 2 seed Venus Williams, 30, did not just lose, she was completely crushed in only two sets of 6-2, 6-3 by unseeded Tsvetana Pironkova, 22, from Bulgaria in the 2010 Wimbledon women's single quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Pironkova's career high prior to defeating Williams was being ranked as #40 worldwide in June 2008. With today's victory she might have catapulted herself way ahead of that spot. In Bulgaria, however, she already has the top spot along with six ITF titles.

Williams is currently only one spot behind her sister, Serena, who is ranked as #1 in the world. Both sisters have dominated the lawns of Wimbledon for six consecutive years which includes numerous singles titles won in the years 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2008 by Venus alone.

Obviously, Pironkova broke Venus' winning streak at Wimbledon which she most likely will have to pay for if she faces Serena in the semifinal or even final.
