There are two CD release shows scheduled for Orlando bands on Saturday. Phraydoe Peans’ “Blunt Masters Society” will be officially released at the Anonymous Music-Art-Film Festival and Marketplace taking place at The Music Center. Orlando band Aergia is holding their CD release show for “Peripeteia” at The BackBooth.

Sunday is the eighth year kick-off for Southern Fried Sunday. Live music at Will’s Pub for this celebration are Orlando bands The Holcomb Brothers Band and Stephen Rock along with Central Florida’s Have Gun, Will Travel and Knoxville’s Matt Woods. They are also collecting donations for The Ferncreek Elementary Food Pantry. Those donating a non-perishable food donation will save $2 off the $10 admission price. “Being involved in the local and social media scene is crucial is growing a fan-base. Every opportunity to do so is another chance to get your name, your music and your voice out to new listeners. But you can’t stop there. Cross promotion is still a leading way to grow your fan base and grow your professional network. Promote; not only yourself, but the other artists you’ll be sharing a stage with. Keep those relationships and work diligently to involve other artists in your growth as a musician and a band. In this way we can all grow and succeed together. There are so many talented musicians in Orlando. Some work together, but many, unfortunately too many, work against each other. We need a unified scene in which bands support each other, help each other, promote each other and watch out for each other. We play the same stages, share the same events and to a degree have the same fans. Don’t forget where you came from. Remember the times that you were struggling to book those cool venues or great nights and how thankful you were when a band reached out and lifted you up. There is always someone looking at what you’re doing and wanting to be there. Pass on the love. Be that helping hand and that inspiration they may need. This is a tough industry, and at times, we get by with a little help from our friends.” – Orlando singer/songwriter Billy Floyd
