Each year the Venturing crews and their leadership gather to swap stories and honor those who have made a difference on scouting for them. This is the Venturing District Dinner. This year All Saint’s Lutheran Church in Aurora is the site of the festivities on April 14, 2011.
There will be presentations for the Outstanding Scouter, Venturing leadership awards, District Award of Merit and for the William D. Boyce Award; Youth will be recognized for their achievements. To recognize someone as an Outstanding Scouter please complete this form online. To be sure that Eagle Rank achievement or the Award of Bronze, Gold and/or Silver awards be sure to contact Ben McKibben or Kathy Hodak.
Each crew is invited to join in a table decorating contest. The theme this year is Holidays. You pick the holiday.
Maybe you will want the holiday theme to continue as part of the Cake Walk. Everyone is invited to bring a Cake for the Walk. This is big fundraiser for the John Kullman Scholarship fund. This fund assists youth with the expenses of participating in the Venturing program. John was a Scouter from the Gateway District who trail blazed Venturing in the Denver Area Council and assisted with its growth throughout the country.
Registration for dinner can be made here. It is $14 for adults and $10 for youth. You are welcome to attend the festivities without participating in the meal for free. Be sure to bring a copy of your receipt with you if sign up for dinner. If you have problems with registration contact Zenia Minjares at the council office 303-455-5522 during business hours.
All Saint’s Lutheran Church is located at 15625 E Iliff Ave Aurora CO, 80014. The District Dinner is scheduled from 6 till 9 PM on April 14, 2011. You are welcomed to attend with or without you crew. The attire is casual, your scouting uniform or something to do with a holiday, or maybe some combination of all that.
