Vena Cava unveiled not only clothes on the runways of New York Fashion Week, but also a new shoe collaboration with Tenoversix. Many of the shoes were chunky platform styles, with laces up the front or ties around the ankles, but were more straight flat styles than slanted wedge shapes. There were also closed-toe mary-jane-esque platforms that could easily be worn with dresses or pants of any style. A few flat styles also came down the runway, a strange sight to see at a fashion show--but a welcome one in terms of trend forecasting. Colors stayed neutral, in yellow, white and black.
Designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock also drew from a nautical theme, with tied rope belts wrapping around waists and tassel necklaces hanging down to models' waists. Many looks also featured head wraps in bright bold colors as well as neutral black or navy. Jewelry was chunky, with thick chokers circling necks and plastic bangles stacked up the models' arms.
