Mexico’s Carlos Vela put the icing on the cake in the 4-2 victory that Real Sociedad imposed on Spanish La Liga BBVA giants Real Madrid at the Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastian, Spain in week 2 action. La Real turned the game around after falling behind 0-2 in the first 11 minutes of play.
Sergio Ramos and Welshman Gareth Bale opened scoring for Madrid in a game that looked to be an easy pass for the current UEFA Champions. After the goals Real Madrid eased off on their attack and confidence settled in. However, Real Sociedad could only improve after the dismal start.
With the visitors easing off, Iñigo Martinez took advantage of a play to put the ball in the net in the 35th minute. Six minutes later David Zurutuza would pierce Iker Casillas’ net with a header to send the game to the break at 2-2.
Carlos Vela came on in the 60th as the local squad looked to take the game. The Mexican National Team striker came on to add more firepower to the attack. The Real Madrid attitude was nowhere near what it was in the first 20 minutes of play allowing the home side to take control of the game. Zurutuza would break the net once more in the 65th to put the game 3-2 in the local side’s favor.
La Real was back in the game, the crowd was cheering their team on against the 32-times Spanish league champions. In the 75th Vela put the final nail in the coffin with the 4-2 to claim Real Sociedad’s first win of the season.
